Position Description:
Customer service in the air cargo and ground handling departments is provided by the Cargo Agent. The success of ATL Cargo Management and freight forwarding services depends on this position. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to clients, resolving customer queries, managing cargo shipments and dealing with any emergencies that may arise.
The role requires an individual who can adapt to change. Excellent communication skills and being able to handle high-pressure situations are required of the successful candidate. They need to be able to work with a wide variety of vendors and stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of cargo services.
A Cargo Agent must have an in-depth understanding of cargo management and freight forwarding. They should be aware of the regulations and policies associated with these disciplines. Knowledge of hazardous materials, dangerous goods and customs clearance protocols is required for this role.
In order to effectively communicate customer requirements to internal and external stakeholders, the successful candidate must have strong problem-solving skills. They should be comfortable working with a range of computer software applications, such as Microsoft Office, cargo shipping systems, warehouse management systems and inventory control systems.
The Customer Service Agent at ATL will play an important role in the success of the company’s cargo services. As the face of the company, they will be responsible for providing top-notch customer service, updating records accurately, meeting deadlines and offering solutions to customer issues.
